On Friday we were delighted to DJ at the Wedding Ideas Awards 2013 which took place at the Tower Hotel, London.
The setting was perfect, overlooking Tower Bridge and inside, the venue looked fantastic decorated with beautiful flowers, wonderful wedding cakes and the now legendary, ice sculptured vodka luge!
We arrived in the daytime to set up our lighting and DJ equipment and prepare for the evening’s celebrations which included entertainers, singers, a comedian, half-naked men, a magician and of course, the awards ceremony itself.
As professional Wedding DJs it’s a pleasure to be able to meet and socialise with the very best people in our industry and recognise their talents at an event like this.
Special mention must go to Naomi Thomas, the Founder of The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation. Naomi won ‘Bride of the Year’ and received a standing ovation as she collected her award. During her acceptance speech she shared with us her own experiences with Breast Cancer and how she had set up the charity with it’s aims to organise and fund weddings for terminally ill people. There wasn’t a single dry eye in the room and Naomi left everybody feeling truly inspired and wanting to do all they can to help.
Once the presentations were over it was our turn to take to the stage and get the dancing started. As always at events like this, we wanted to carry on all night but eventually the lights went down around 1am as attendees, guests and award winners stumbled their way back to their hotel rooms to reflect on an epic night of celebrations.
We’ll see you there again next year!
