First dance wedding songs are often the most poignant part of any wedding entertainment and celebrity weddings are no different. In a recent article, the website Bridefinds listed the top 50 celebrity first dance wedding songs and whilst some might seem fairly obvious, other choices are slightly more surprising.
Take for example Beyonce and Jay Z who chose to have their own hit ‘Crazy in Love’ as their first dance song. A’ list celebrities Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes preferred Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Songbird’ whilst Prince William and Kate Middleton asked Ellie Goulding to perform the Elton John track ‘Your Song’.
If you were a celebrity and it was your wedding day, would you allow yourself a moment of self-indulgence? Just as Beyonce and Jay Z chose their own song, Paul McCartney also had one of his own tunes for his first dance with wife Nancy Shevell.
Not all celebrity singers picked their own pieces of work though, Shania Twain chose a song by Michael Buble whilst Buble himself danced to Dean Martin’s classic ‘Everybody Loves Somebody’.
‘Make You Feel My Love’ is most recently associated with Adele but when Reese Witherspoon married, she danced to Bob Dylan’s original version and Tori Spelling picked the ever-popular ‘Amazed’ by Lonestar.
