2016 Wedding DJ Prices
The average cost of weddings over the last two years has increased slightly and the amount Couples’ spend on their wedding entertainment has followed a similar pattern. It’s important to note that the prices mentioned here are for wedding entertainment overall and not just how much a DJ will cost.
Let’s take a look historically at patterns in previous years. Entertainment costs at weddings remained around the same level for a while:
In 2012, Ideal Bride Magazine reported that wedding entertainment costs were £560.00.
In 2013 according to UK Wedding Belles, the average wedding cost was £16,164 and of that, £560.00 was once again, the average price of wedding entertainment.
However in more recent times the amount spent on entertaining wedding guests has increased slightly.
According to a survey by You & Your Wedding in 2014, the average amount spent by the Bride and Groom on entertainment was £692. Whereas last year, 2015, those fees had increased to £773 according to figures published by Brides Magazine.
2016 Wedding DJ prices are expected to remain in-line with the previous 12 months and remember, the above figures take into account costs for other entertainment such as string quartets, singers, bands etc. and not just the fee for a DJ so it’s highly probable that the price you will pay for the evening disco will be less than the amounts shown here.
As with all aspects of a wedding, each couple will have their own preferences and place greater importance on some parts of the day than others but it might be worth considering that the entertainment is often one of the most memorable parts of a wedding and therefore potentially worth a reasonable investment and a sensible proportion of your overall budget.
