Wedding DJ Prices 2014

Wedding DJ prices in 2014 are expected to be around the same level as the last couple of years and for reference, latest research has uncovered an average cost of Wedding entertainment for 2013.

2014 Price For a Wedding DJ

Wedding DJ prices for 2014 will emerge once studies have been made and data analysed by industry professionals. It’s unlikely that prices for wedding DJs in 2014 will differ too much from the last year or two.

In 2013 according to UK Wedding Belles, the average wedding cost is expected to be £16,164 and of that, £560.00 is the average price of wedding entertainment.

Last year, 2012,  Ideal Bride Magazine reported that wedding entertainment costs were also at £560.00.

Two years ago, according to research by Hitched in 2011, the average amount spent on a wedding day was £12,059 and of that, an average of £490 was spent on entertainment.

In my article, Wedding DJ Cost, I suggest that if you’re planning your budget, you should expect to spend around 5% of the overall wedding budget on entertainment. What does that actually mean? On a £10,000 wedding that means around £500 and on a £15,000 wedding that price would be £750.

When it comes to planning a wedding, the cost tends to be the overwhelming consideration for many couples. Although we all dream of the perfect wedding, reality has to strike at some point and we all find ourselves compromising on certain aspects of the wedding because our budget won’t quite stretch. For a long time entertainment and hiring a Wedding DJ has been seen as a potential area to save some money.

A Wedding DJ isn’t the only source of entertainment of course and the studies mentioned above will likely also include live bands, string quartets etc.

As with all aspects of a wedding, each couple will have their own preferences and place greater importance on some parts of the day than others but it might be worth considering that the entertainment is often one of the most memorable parts of a wedding and therefore potentially worth a reasonable investment and a sensible proportion of your overall budget.
